Customer Challenge:

The railway bridge asset manager wanted a decking solution that would extend the life of steel girder rail bridge, while minimising future maintenance.  It had been determined that the use of timber decking on steel bridges leads to permanently wet contact being created between the timber and steel, increasing the rate of decay.   Neither founding nor possession time was available to replacing the bridge structure.

Sicut Solution:

Sicut S&C bearers were used to replace the entire timber deck offering a very low maintenance solution.   The bridge deck was replaced in a single weekend possession using Sicut composite sleepers.
