Customer Challenge:

Timber sleepers being installed in concrete slab soak moisture thus leading to degradation and dimensional change. Customer wanted a solution with almost zero water absorption properties and good resilience.

Sicut Solution:

Sicut sleepers were installed in the concrete slab track using cement grout according to EN 206:2016. The rail was fixed to the composite sleeper to determine the suitability compared to timber sleepers. No cracking, shrinkage or issues have been encountered since the 2006 installation.
