Customer Challenge:

Replacement of broken/damaged wood sleepers in narrow gauge plain line track with a longer lasting sleeper which required minimal maintenance.

Sicut Solution:

The existing narrow-gauge track was built using wood sleepers which deteriorates quickly due to the surrounding wet environment and coastal conditions. The same screw fastening system was required to be used but with a far greater performing sleeper to reduce maintenance, track closure and sleeper replacement. Sicut sleepers with dimensions 132mm x 254mm were installed.
