Customer Challenge:

Rail track over the foot tunnel at station has lower track depth compared to the concrete track running into the station.Customer had always used wood sleepers with reduced depth of 140mm and required regular maintenance due to quality of timber. This station is used by both passenger and freight traffic serving fast-speed trains and regular maintenance was causing increased service disruptions.

Sicut Solution:

Sicut composite sleepers with dimensions 140mm x 230mm x 2750mm were chosen for this project and installed in 2014.  Performance to date has been very positive and no issues have been encountered by the client.
